Apartment Shooting

Attending a neighbor dispute in an apartment building.

A call was received regarding a neighbor dispute at a multi-unit complex. The first responding officer, arriving alone, was buzzed into the building and attempted to prop the door open using items from the lobby but found nothing suitable. The officer waited until the second unit arrived. The second officer, equipped with a MILITAUR door stop, quickly secured the door, preventing it from closing.

Upon reaching the offender’s unit, the situation escalated, with the offender producing a firearm and engaging the officers in a shootout. Additional backup units were requested. Thanks to the MILITAUR door stop, the building's entry remained open, allowing reinforcements to enter without delay, ultimately helping resolve the situation swiftly.

Excited Delirium

Unwanted Guest in Business Complex

A unit was dispatched to remove an unwanted individual from a secure business corridor. Upon arrival, the officer gained entry with assistance from the caller. Recognizing the potential risk, the officer used a MILITAUR door stop on the self-securing door to prevent it from locking behind him. After locating the individual, the officer noticed signs of excited delirium, and the situation quickly escalated into a physical confrontation.

Thanks to the officer's foresight in using the MILITAUR door stop, backup and medical personnel were able to access the building swiftly. The officer later described the encounter as a life-threatening struggle with a drug-fueled individual, and credited the rapid entry of additional resources with limiting injuries and trauma.

This incident highlights the critical role of maintaining immediate access during volatile situations and underscores the importance of the MILITAUR door stop in helping officer safety and quick response times.

Building Clearing

K9 Unit to Assist

A K9 unit was called to clear a large industrial building after reports of a potential intruder. Upon entry, the handler deployed multiple MILITAUR door stops to keep the self-securing doors open as they moved through the structure. This strategic use of the door stops allowed the K9 unit to systematically clear sections of the building while providing cover officers quick and unobstructed access to key areas.

As the team progressed, the MILITAUR door stops served as visual markers, indicating which areas had already been searched, enabling efficient and enhanced tracking of the building’s layout. These visual cues were critical in coordinating the search and ensuring no section was overlooked. The use of multiple door stops not only kept the building accessible but also reduced the time needed to locate the suspect.
